Symantec bracht de software van deze twee acquisities lange tijd als twee verschillende encryptieproductlijnen uit. Symantec dat tegenwoordig onderdeel is van Broadcom, heeft in het verleden twee verschillende bedrijven overgenomen die encryptiesoftware ontwikkelden: GuardianEdge en PGP.
